Mother’s Day

First things first, I want to thank the mother of all mothers for being so incredible and inspiring.  I know it is evident from her many appearances on the blog that she is one remarkable lady.  I am so very lucky to call her my own.  Happy Mother’s Day, Marme!

As far as how my weekend was spent, I had the extreme honor of being the baby’s guest at Muffins with Mom…

I got to cheer on the one that made me a mother at my very first track meet.  For all 8 hours of it :-)  And then celebrate with slushie suicides and vanilla cokes afterwards…

I cheered for this one at his next to last soccer game… (Had to miss the last due to the aforementioned track meet extravaganza.)

And in between all of that I ate and ate and ate… Krispy Kremes, pizza, steaks on the Big Green Egg, wine on the porch and the ah-mazing Buttermilk Pie Co. Pecan Pie from my Georgia Crafted Mother’s Day Box.

The boys were so sweet to think of me with flowers, all sorts of handmade cards and such from school, a work party in the yard (pinestraw spreading AND fence painting!) AND a spa gift card which was a TOTAL surprise!!!!!!!  It was simply a wonderful weekend full of mommy-ing.  The role I love to play more than any other (especially errand runner and housekeeper).

To those out there mourning a Mother this weekend, my heart goes out to you.  And to those that are wishing for or have wished to become a Mother, know that I am thinking of you too.  I have walked that road and know it is a painful, especially on days like this.
