A couple of days ago I shared the little pot of gold at the end of the rainbow treats I’m putting together for the PCP’s class on St. Patrick’s Day. Well, I couldn’t leave well enough alone and will also be sending in the cutest Four-Leaf Fractions game for them to play.

The game is available free from Teachers Pay Teachers. I use this site frequently for adorable and educational games. I don’t personally have an account, but bestie M is always a doll to download and send them to me. It is free to set up an account and I don’t think you have to be a teacher to do so.

The game comes with instructions, but I slightly modified them to better suit John’s classroom set up. They will be playing it like a bingo game in the groups that they already sit in:

The game comes with instructions, but I slightly modified them to better suit John’s classroom set up. They will be playing it like a bingo game in the groups that they already sit in:
- In each group, student will run the spinner and call out the fraction.
- The rest of the students at the table will use a marker to cover a fraction model that represents the fraction on the spinner. If a shamrock is spun, they each get to choose one shamrock on their sheet to cover.
- The first student to cover a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) on the game board is the winner.
The spinner is pretty ingenious. You place one end of a paperclip on the center of the spinner and hold the point of your pencil down in the middle of that and spin.
The supplies for the game are easy and inexpensive to pull together. You’ll need:
- Four-Leaf Fractions Free Game
- A pencil and large paperclip for each spinner
- Markers – we are using Lucky Charms
I hope it ends up as fun as I intend!
xoxo
