Ikea Hack Coffee Table with Reccesesd Planter and LED Light

sketchI was working down at the Techshop in Menlo Park and wanted to make a table that I had been thinking about for quite a while. I didn't have time or the knowledge of suppliers in the area except one. IKEA! So I ran over a picked out a few pieces that let me prototype my idea in no time for a about $150 for a custom coffee table with recessed planter and LED light. Not bad!!

Step 1: Cutting hole for the planter box and attaching it


First I cut a square hole in the center of the countertop I Played ato fit the BJURON planter box.I recessed it about half way and secured it with Gorilla Glue and finishing staples.

Step 2: Attaching legs with screws


Then I attached each of the legs in the corners
